Proteocypher is a biotech company founded in 2008. Our biological assays identify biomarkers that can predict which patients will respond to new expensive treatments for arthritis.
The company was forged as a partnership between expert proteome scientists and rheumatologists at Queens University Belfast and the University of Ulster.
The company will provide analytical services to the hospital clinician so that use of high cost drugs can be rationalised. This will enable cost-benefit decisions to be made with confidence by clinicians.
Our company’s mission is to improve the current way in which arthritis treatments are chosen and offer appropriate medication and treatments to suit each individual patient.
We will identify which biological arthritis treatments will work, thereby reducing their pain and disability, saving the NHS and ultimately the taxpayer money.
We aim to be the leading provider of diagnostic services for auto-immune diseases in the UK and Ireland by 2010.
We aspire to provide a first class service that will allow a more effective selection of medication and treatments for diseases such as arthritis.
